Koning Willem I College (KW1C) is the leading provider of vocational education and adult learning in the Noordoost Brabant (North-East Brabant) region of the Netherlands, home to approximately 680,000 people.
The region has a strong and innovative economy, with key sectors including Agri-food & Life Sciences, Logistics & Industry, High-tech & Innovation, and Services & Education. KW1C works closely with employers and organisations in these sectors to provide education that matches the needs of the regional labour market. Our 14 campuses are located across ’s-Hertogenbosch, Meierijstad, Oss Cuijk and Tiel.
Our ambition is to build a strong, collaborative, and inclusive learning community together with our regional partners. We provide educational opportunities for approximately 19,000 learners, ranging from vocational students to adult learners participating in lifelong learning programmes.
KW1C offers more than 300 programmes across almost all vocational sectors, through both school-based and work-based learning pathways. By connecting government, business, education, and research, we strengthen the regional labour market and create communities where people learn, work, and develop together.
Dutch secondary vocational education (VET) is organised in four qualification levels, ranging from assistant training to middle management and specialist programmes. Students can progress through the different levels and, after completing level 4, continue into higher professional education (Bachelor level).
Koning Willem I College offers programmes at qualification levels 1 to 4.

KW1C is a forward-looking vocational institution with a strong international focus. As the only VET college in the Netherlands with a double Erasmus+ accreditation for both vocational and adult education, internationalisation is an integral part of our educational vision.
Our dedicated International Office supports a wide range of activities, including Erasmus+ projects, international internships, incoming and outgoing mobility activities, staff development, and the hosting of international students, staff, and visitors.
We welcome opportunities to collaborate with organisations that share our commitment to high-quality, inclusive, and future-oriented education.

International cooperation is an integral part of education at KW1C. Through Erasmus+ and other international partnerships, we offer students and staff a wide range of opportunities to learn and develop across borders.
These activities include:
International internships
Student and staff exchanges
Study visits
Job shadowing
Collaborative educational projects
Professional development activities
Incoming mobility programmes for international visitors
We work closely with a broad network of partner organisations worldwide, including vocational colleges, universities, companies, public authorities, and non-governmental organisations. Together, we develop innovative educational practices and create meaningful international learning experiences.
Our partnerships help students develop professional, intercultural, and personal competences that prepare them for an increasingly international labour market. At the same time, they enable staff to exchange expertise, share good practices, and contribute to the continuous improvement of vocational and adult education.
We believe that international cooperation strengthens both education and society. By working together across borders, we create opportunities for learners, educators, and organisations to innovate, grow, and address shared challenges.
KW1C actively participates in European cooperation projects that contribute to innovation, inclusion, sustainability, and excellence in vocational education and training.
Examples of recent and ongoing projects include:
AutoCoVE 2.0 – Centre of Vocational Excellence for the Automotive Sector
IMVET – Inclusive Mobility in Vocational Education and Training
Steps to Working Life
CARE-INT – Intersectional Discrimination and Violence Against Women with Disabilities
